Renewing Commitments: FBI IT Project Management
Jeremy Wiltz
IT Program Management Section Chief, FBI
Wednesday, December 10, 2008
6:00 pm - 9:00pmPlease join us on Wednesday evening, December 10, 2008, at the Blair Mansion Inn in Silver Spring, Maryland, to welcome our guest speaker for the month of December, Jeremy Wiltz, IT Program Management Section Chief for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Wiltz will be speaking about Renewing Commitments: FBI IT Project Management.
PDUs: 1.5 This presentation will provide first-hand insight into the history of information technology and project management at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It will trace the evolution of the Bureaus project management practices from the initial stages of minimal discipline and poorly-followed processes, to the current transition stage of improved discipline and control, project prioritization, and the use of a richer toolset focusing on schedule control, cost analysis and standardized reporting.
Much remains to be done, but executive leadership is fully engaged, success stories abound, and the FBI is on track to build a best-of-breed project management organization placing people first, practicing servant leadership, and promoting quality, on-time delivery with every project it sponsors. What can be learned from the FBI experience? In the absence of discipline and control, heroes emerge to save the day, but they do so at a price, sacrificing quality of life while delivering sub-standard results. This is a must-see event for project managers committed to the highest principles of their profession. Dont miss it!
Mark your calendars NOW! and plan to come!
