Executive Perspectives on Project Management: Getting Commitment from Your Executives and Keeping Their Attention
Nick Schacht, PMP
Wednesday, February 8, 2006
6:00 pm - 9:00pm

Please join us on Wednesday evening, February 8, 2006, as Nick Schacht, PMP , President and CEO of Learning Tree International, shares with our chapter at our next monthly meeting. Nick will be speaking on “Executive Perspectives on Project Management: Getting Commitment from Your Executives and Keeping Their Attention .” Our meeting will be held at the Blair Mansion Inn in Silver Spring, Maryland.

One of the biggest challenges facing any project manager is gaining the senior management commitment necessary to get a project going and keep it on track, and then keeping that commitment and attention throughout the project duration. Notorious for short attention spans, executives sometimes seem to speak a different language --and learning that language can be a key survival and success skill for today’s project managers.

This session will provide insight into executive perspectives (from a former project manager turned executive). Key points will include the following:

  • Motivating and interesting executives --and inspiring their commitment
  • Using the right (and wrong) language --how your words drive your results
  • Communicating effectively --patterns and protocols
  • Handling disasters --what to do when things go wrong
