Ervin Reeves serves as Senior Enterprise Architect for the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management (SAF/FM). He is a Certified Enterprise Architect and a Certified Information Security Manager. Mr. Reeves has over 25 years of experience designing and developing IT systems for both commercial and government clients. Before accepting his current position with the SAF/FM, he served as Senior Enterprise Architect for the Air National Guard, after a period of service as Chief Architect for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Mr. Reeves serves on the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Information Assurance Working Group in support of the DoD Network Centric Warfare Initiative. Mr. Reeves is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Assurance at the University of Fairfax.
Mr. Reeves will discuss what skills are required of Project Managers responsible for managing a Business Process Project. Included will be a discussion of skills required of Project Managers to better understand the business processes, as well as lessons learned and best practices needed to ensure BPM project success. Business Process teams benefit from team leaders who are experienced project managers. Moreover, given the widespread corporate interest in BPM, there are significant opportunities for project managers who are familiar with process redesign to help their companies. Managers who want to be effective in the years ahead will want to master the basics of both BPM and project management.
